- The Nominations Committees of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific have announced the candidates for election to the ASP Board of Directors. Three seats are up for election in 2013. More information and list of candidates.
- The ASP is now accepting abstract proposals for its 2013 Annual Meeting, "Ensuring STEM Literacy." Scientists across disciplines (astronomy, space, earth, physics, astrobiology), educators (K-12, college level) and public outreach professionals are invited to propose and be a part of the ASP's marquee three-day event in San Jose, CA. - Jeffrey Mangum, a scientist at the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) headquarters in Charlottesville, Virginia, has been appointed Editor of the Publications of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific (PASP), a peer-reviewed scientific journal. The tenth editor in PASP's 125-year history, Mangum will continue in his position on the NRAO's scientific staff, where he has worked fulltime since 1994. Read more.
