 teaching astronomy.\n\nIn this two-hour workshop\, join experienced teache
 rs who have taught astronomy to cover the “nuts and bolts'' of solar syste
 m exploration. Rovers on Mars\, spacecraft orbiting Jupiter and Saturn\, n
 ot to mention the close flyby of Pluto and the images of mountains and gla
 ciers on its frigid surface. What are the different ways in which we explo
 re the solar system\, and how do we interpret what we find? In this worksh
 op we will explore what we know\, and how we continue to investigate the o
 bjects within our own solar system. This workshop is perfect for those tea
 ching astronomy for the first time this fall\, as well as experienced teac
 hers who are interested in discovering new resources and connecting with p
 eers.\n\nParticipants will gain the following through participation in the
  workshop:\n\n   - Classroom-tested resources and activities that facilita
 te student-centered learning.\n    -Strategies for engaging learners.\n   
  -Access to astronomy education experts who will facilitate the workshop.
 \n    -A certificate of completion for participating in 2 clock hours of p
 rofessional development.\n    Upon completion of the entire series of 4 wo
 rkshops\, participants can earn semester graduate units from the Universit
 y of the Pacific for an additional fee.\n\nRegistration: $40\n\nAttendance
 /Refund Policy\n\nLive attendance is strongly encouraged and expected in o
 rder to get the most out of the interactive session. Full refund is availa
