 holidays can be traced back to annual observances of the patterns of the e
 arth and sky. From Stonehenge to Egyptian temples\, learn how cultures aro
 und the world celebrate this season and how to use these traditions to exp
 lain the rhythm of the seasons to a general audience. With engaging questi
 ons and simple materials you can find at home\, we will create models and 
 tell stories that engage learners of all ages. \n\nThis workshop is 1 hour
  long with an additional 30 minutes for asking questions and sharing ideas
 . \n\nParticipants will gain the following through participation in the wo
 rkshop:\n\n    An understanding of the changing seasons and how they have 
 been observed over time\n    Clear demonstrations of ways to share these i
 deas with a general audience\n    Resource links to learn more and review 
 activities and related books \n    Access to astronomy experts who will fa
 cilitate the workshop and answer questions\n    A certificate of completio
 n for participating in two clock hours of professional development.\n\nReg
 istration: *FREE*\n\nAttendance/Refund Policy\n\nLive attendance is strong
 ly encouraged and expected in order to get the most out of the interactive
