 omena. Explore the different kinds of telescopes and how they provide a wi
 ndow on the Universe in every wavelength of the electromagnetic spectrum. 
 This workshop is perfect for those teaching astronomy for the first time t
 his fall\, as well as experienced teachers who are interested in discoveri
 ng new resources and connecting with peers.\n\nParticipants will gain the 
 following through participation in the workshop:\n\n    -Classroom-tested 
 resources and activities that facilitate student-centered learning.\n    -
 Strategies for engaging learners.\n    -Access to astronomy education expe
 rts who will facilitate the workshop.\n    -A certificate of completion fo
 r participating in 2 clock hours of professional development.\n   - Upon c
 ompletion of the entire series of 4 workshops\, participants can earn seme
 ster graduate units from the University of the Pacific for an additional f
 ee.\n\nRegistration: $40\n\nAttendance/Refund Policy\n\nLive attendance is
  strongly encouraged and expected in order to get the most out of the inte
