Speaker and Panelist Biographies

Chris McCarthy

Chris has worked in the field of exoplanets for over 20 years, and is currently working with a project to discover 100 Earth-like planets.   He has taught introductory astronomy at SF State for over 15 years.   About 10 years ago, he started including climate change in this class.  He has also worked on science education programs for elementary school teachers and also serves on the board of the Mission Science Workshop, which provides hands-on science to underserved children in San Francisco.
