Michael Kirk

Michael Kirk

Dr. Michael Kirk is a research scientist in the Heliophysics Science Division at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center. He serves as the Principal Investigator for NASA's Heliophysics Education Activation Team (HEAT), which focuses on increasing public understanding and engagement with heliophysics. Dr. Kirk is also a Co-investigator on the upcoming SunCET CubeSat mission, set to launch in 2025. His work extends to helping lead NASA Goddard’s Center for HelioAnalytics, which integrates data science into heliophysics to enhance our understanding of the Sun and its variability. Dr. Kirk earned his Ph.D. in Astronomy from New Mexico State University in 2013.
