To earn ASP certification, videos must meet the following expectations:
Your video should reflect current astronomical understanding and avoid errors, invented facts, or misleading explanations.
Scientific facts and discoveries must be accurate and verifiable. If AI generated a citation or reference, we will double-check it.
Explain concepts in a way that is accurate, coherent, and understandable without introducing new misconceptions.
When including cultural astronomy, avoid stereotypes and clearly distinguish science from stories and traditions.
Make sure images, animations, and graphics don’t mislead about scale, color, distances, or data. Label artistic or AI-generated visuals.
What you say, what appears on screen, and what’s written in captions should all agree scientifically.
Let your audience know when the content was created or assisted by AI, and clearly signal when something is speculative or uncertain.
If you change the video — even slightly — you’ll need a new review before using the ASP certification badge on the updated version.
