"Who is the best advocate for science? YOU!"

As scientists, we cannot detach ourselves from the rest of society. Our lives are similarly affected by shortsighted policies that do not take science into account. How does an academic turn into a science advocate? Not many academic scientists see themselves speaking to audiences different from their peers. But we must talk science to more than our peers because many life-changing decisions (including policy ones) need to be science-informed to be really effective, and the best way to inform people who are not academics is by talking to them in some way. And who better to talk about your science than you? Advocating for science is a natural extension of the work we do. Come hear how you can advocate effectively, and have a good time doing it.
