Workshop: "Confidence and Curiosity: Girls Scouts and Volunteers Sharing Astronomy"
The Astronomical Society of the Pacific (ASP), together with the SETI Institute and GSUSA, is excited to announce a three webinar series for older girls (Seniors and Ambassadors) and Girl Scouts adult volunteers or staff who want to share astronomy with others.
Learn about the new Space Science badges and best practices for engaging girls in astronomy programs. In this workshop, you will be able to explore how to create an inviting environment where everyone has the opportunity to learn more about space science. We strongly recommend taking this workshop with another person from your area, so you can implement these strategies together, in your council, service unit or astronomy club.
Individual workshop dates:
August 5th: Space Science Badge overview and Growth Mindset
August 12: Younger girl badges, micro-messages and storytelling
August 19: Older girl badges, questions and misconceptions
The programs will run on Thursdays at 3pm Pacific / 6pm Eastern. All three webinars are independent so you can join them all, or attend any session you prefer. Everyone who registers will also receive a link to the recorded sessions.
