Andrew Fraknoi retired as Chair of Astronomy at Foothill College a few years ago, but still teaches non-credit classes for retired people through U. of San Francisco’s Fromm Institute and the OLLI program at SF State and nationally. He is the lead author of the free, online “Astronomy” textbook from the nonprofit OpenStax Project, which has been used by over 1.1 million students and is now the most-adopted introductory astronomy book in North America.
