Rick Fienberg

Rick Fienberg, PhD, is an astronomer, educator, and science communicator. He worked at Sky & Telescope for 22 years, including 9 as publisher and 8 as editor in chief, then served 12 years as press officer of the American Astronomical Society. He is co-author with Steve Maran of Astronomy for Dummies, 5th edition (Wiley, 2023) and is a veteran of 15 total solar eclipses and 2 annular eclipses. In 2018 NASA awarded him its Exceptional Public Achievement Medal for his work promoting eye safety for the 2017 U.S. total solar eclipse.
